How to use Hidden Hearth tiles

Hidden Hearth tiles can be enjoyed in a few different ways — as small art pieces, as part of your home, or somewhere in between.

As Art

Use a single tile as a mini artwork:

  • Hang it on the wall (framed or unframed)

  • Display it on an easel

  • Give it as a gift (it’s the rare gift that doesn’t require knowing someone’s clothing size)

In a Tile Installation

Our tiles can also be incorporated into a larger tile project — think of them as “feature tiles” within a backsplash, shower wall, stove surround, or fireplace surround (not inside the firebox). You can use one tile as an accent, or combine several to create a small mosaic or panel.

If you’d like coordinating field tiles to intersperse with our illustrated tiles, we recommend Fireclay’s Natural Press line, which pairs beautifully with our Whidbey Flora & Fauna collection.

A Note on Inspiration

The Whidbey Flora & Fauna line is inspired by historic Dutch Delft blue-and-white tiles — traditionally used in kitchens, bathrooms, and other everyday spaces where art quietly lives with you.
